What Are All The Pros And Cons Of The Htc Touch Pro?

I Might Be Getting This Phone Under Sprint. I Have The Instinct Now And I Think It Sucks. The Htc Touch Pro Seems Kind Of Cool. Can It Go On Yahoo, Myspace, Etc.? Tell Me Everything Good Or Bad About It, Please.

I have the touch pro and LOVE it. I would NEVER get an instinct or a touch screen only phone (I need the full keyboard)

It can do just about anything you need to do, plus finding free apps for it is a lot easier than any other phone since its windows mobile.

I recently switched from a Palm Treo 700 to the HTC touch pro. I was excited by everthing I had read about the phone and figured it would be a really great upgrade. (I had also considered switching to an iPhone, but all the reviews of the Touch pro got me thinking that it was the better unit).

So I have had the phone for almsot 2 Months now and I must honestly say I really dislike it. It kills me to say this because I spent close to $ 800 on these things (I also got my Fiance one to replace her Treo 650).

Here's what I am having problems with / why I don't like it:

1. Whenever I take a call and hold the phone to my ear to talk, it invariably opens up a ton of programs because the touch screen doesn't turn off / lock while on a call. So next think I know, I have like GPS, Opera and notepad all opened up and draining my battery (or I've texted someone a message like "Mbuwegfjgeug4" without knowing it).

2. There is a distinct lag when switching between applications. I often push a button several times because I don't think the phone registered the initial push, then i get a bunch of app's openend at once, or it locks up because I pushed the button too many times.

3. The scrolling feature (the Touch Flo) at the bottom of the home screen (to switch applications) is laggy and often I end up opening the wrong program because the scrolling hesitates / hiccups and registers this as a "selection" of whatever program it stalls at.

4. The Camera is ABYSMAL! It's a joke really. Unless I am 100% stationary AND the object I am trying to photograph is 100% stationary then the picture is completely unusable. Trying to capture my 4 year old on this phone is IMPOSSIBLE (wheras my Treo 700 could do it no problem). Don't even get me started on the "video" capabilities of this phone, because they are equally unusable.

5. No Picture texting??? This is a huge issue. Everything has to go through "Sprint Picture mail" with this phone? How can it not be capable of picture texting? Am I missing something here?? Even my OLD Treo 650 could send pictures via text message and this super phone can't? I am in disbelief...

6. Call volume is very low

7. battery life is horrid. Basically using ANY program drains the battery so fast it reneders the phone unusable. I made the mistake of using the navigation program and in about 45 minutes I went from 100% charge to about 20% charge. Not good considering I hadn't gotten to my destination yet and had to wing it for the rest of the trip (so that I could conserve the remaining 20% of my battery in case I had an emergency). Using Opera, or SPRINT TV is just as bad. If you are not hard wired to a 110v source, forget using these features.

8. The Touch Flo interface seems clunky at best. When I turn off the phone (using the top "power" button) the phone does not return to the main screen, but rather stays on whatever screen you last used. So when you turn on the phone again, you have to close out of everything you were using previously to get to the home screen.

9. The slide out keyboard is not very good., The tactile feel of the buttons is terrible (if you've ever used a Treo you'll know what "good tactile feel" really is). But worse than that is the keyboard layout. Not sure we needed to ahve a 5 line keyboard on a device that is 1 1/2" wide.

So, any help with these issues would be appreciated. I am so close to junking this phone and going back to my Treo 700 which kills me, because this phone SHOULD be the better unit.

Am I not using the phone correctly? Am I not understanding the features properly? Anything I can tweak to make the phone more usable?
