If I am making a phone call on an HTC EVO 4G am I able to browse the web while still on the phone call? Also, what are some AMAZING features that make it stand out from any other phones like the iPhone 4, or Samsung Epic 4G?
Answer by peacemaker
Yup it sure does but only under 4G or WiFi connection I have the evo I am in love with it. Basically Idk what it can't do. IPhone4 is awesome but i like Androids interface way better. I don't think one is really better than another more like a personal preference. All smart phones can pretty much do the same things as long as there is apps to use possibilities are endless

Yes, voice and data can be used simultaneously on the Evo as long as you have 4G coverage in your area. I'm currently talking on my Evo and watching a Youtube video! (the audio comes through the bluetooth headset though, so I should probably turn down the video's volume to hear my friend)
You can also have a knock-off xbox live session by calling your friend and talking on the phone with him while you both play a game online against each other. For instance, me and my buddy played Homerun Battle 3D online on our Evo's while we talked to each other. However, you cannot use voice and data simultaneously with a 3G or Wifi connection. It only works with 4G coverage.
All 3 phones have their advantages and disadvantages. The Epic 4G has a better display than the Evo, but the Evo has an 8 megapixel camera compared to Epic's 5 megapixel camera, and the Evo's screen is bigger than the Epic's screen. The iphone 4 has the new retina display which I hear is gorgeous, but since it's made of glass it breaks easily after 3 drops (go on youtube and watch ifixyouri iphone 4 videos). Evo and Epic both use Android so you can root both (give yourself administrative powers) and use apps like "Shoot Me" which enables you to take screen shots, or download wireless tethering, which makes your phone a hotspot without having to pay Sprint the extra $ 30 per month.
The Epic of course, has a keyboard, but even though I always had a qwerty keyboard on my last 4 phones, I don't miss it since the on screen qwerty keyboard on my Evo works good when I turn the phone to the side, and the spell correction is almost flawless. Plus I use Shapewriter, which is the same thing as Swype. Swype comes with the Epic 4G, while you'll have to download the Shapewriter apk for an Evo from a website. Evo does not come with Swype of Shapewriter, you have to go online and download them to the phone.
All 3 phones have video chat so all in all, you wont really find anything that stands out on the Evo, especially since both the Evo and the Epic use Android OS. It basically boils down to whether or not you want a keyboard. At this moment, no one will completely outdo the iphone. At the most, Sprint has finally caught up with the iphone, and the Evo is only better in terms of the 8 megapixel camera. Plus, Apple really messed up with the glass design and the antenna build on the side of the phone which drops calls if you hold it wrong. Also, a regular iphone can only make video calls with a wifi connection, while the Evo and Epic can make video calls with a 3G, 4G, or Wifi connection. Of course, you can always jailbreak the iphone (which will enable you to use video chat with the 3G connection).
I also don't like the idea of an irremovable battery. I have 2 batteries for my Evo, even though I've never had to use 2 batteries in one day. But when iphone dies, if you don't have the wireless charger, you're screwed. Plus I don't think iphone has insurance, while Evo and Epic does. Moreover, I think Att has a data cap, while the Simply Everything plan with Sprint gives you unlimited data every month. So if you jailbreak an iphone and use the facetime with 3G coverage, you might run out of data faster each month.
I agree with peacemaker. None stand out as best; it's just personal preference.
