I checked the user manuals online, but this is a newer model (I guess?) HTC Hero with Google from Sprint, and there is NO SIM tray under the battery. There are two "slots" on the side, one for the SD card, and the other one doesn't want to open. Has anyone figured this out? Thanks!

There are no SIM cards in Sprint phones. Sprint doesn't use a GSM network, they use a CDMA network. If you bought that phone to use with another carrier, I think you just screwed yourself. Can't be done.

The only Sprint phones that have SIM cards are the "World Phones" which would be the Touch Pro 2 and the Blackberry Tour. Your Hero does not take a sim card.
