I was wondering if I should get the Motorola Droid or the HTC Eris.
Can someone give me an overall comparison between the two?

I'm not done with the HTC Eris yet but I just started a site and I did a Droid review telling you about some of the features and the cost and all of owning a Droid you should check it out. I will try to have the HTC Eris out in the next couple of days.

But I can do a quick comparison of the two right now.
There are a couple of notable differences in the two devices first off the big physical difference of course is the whole keyboard thing. The Droid obviously has a side sliding physical keyboard which some people just prefer. They really do have similar screens though and I wouldn't say either one looks noticeable better than the other. They are both responsive touch-screens and they feel very nice. It is really just the keyboard though the Eris does have the cool little trackball it isn't too much of a difference and you won't end up using it too much with the touchscreen probalby. Then there are some software differences with the Eris running 1.5 and the Droid currently running 2.1 there are a few minor differences and support differences really but none are too bad. Also the Eris is going to be getting an update to either 2.0 or 2.1 sometime soon so its not a big deal really at all. I would go into a store and try them out if I were you but I realize that isn't always that easy to do. In my opinion I like the Droid better for the keyboard alone but I use my phone for a lot of emails and things like that so the Eris might be a little cooler for someone who just needs a phone. Either way too I think you will be happy with the Android operating system it is really easy to use and provides more customizable options than say the iPhone OS.
