i have a htc hero g2 and i am trying to root it! i have seem some ways which look to confusing and was wondering which is the easiest way?

From what ive read about rooting droid phones, (i myself have an HTC eris) is that it could cause a few problems with your OS and could lead to system damage. BUT.... basically theres a file you can download off the internet to your computer, rename the file androidosupdate.zip and place it on your sd card and then reboot your phone, this is just what ive read and im not entirely sure if it works or not so the best of luck to you.

do not for any reason what so ever root an htc hero. it will void your warranty and your OS could crash at anytime plus 2.1 will be out in 11 days. just wait.
