i've heard some good things about the htc droid eris. im thinking about getting it as my next phone but is it like the blackberrys or the iphone where you have to pay an extra $ 30 a month for intenet? can u get it without that plan?

i dont know how much is the data plan for verizon but now this days if you want a touch screen phone u need data plan any touch screen phone requires a data plan like the iphone

I got an Eris about a week ago, and yes you do have to pay $ 30 a month for data, if you get it through a Verizon contract, i think you can get it without one but its certainly not cheap. To be honest with you I think it might be a bit much, i mean don't get me wrong i love the phone, but a lot of it seems unnecessary, that's just something you should think about before you get it because i might actually trade it in for a different phone. That choice however is entirely up to you
